“ My favourite place for authentic Iranian food. I usually have the mixed kobleh (lamb n chicken kebab) accompanied with cucumber salad and flat bread. ”
“ "Like all food, whether you're talking about Persian food, or Chinese food, or Swedish food, it's always a reflection of wars, trading, a bunch of good and a bunch of bad. But what's left is always the food story" by Marcus Samuelsson I relate to that quote because much of our history really intertwined with the Persians. I've been staying in Ampang for almost 3 decades, and this restaurant has been established i think more than decade, this was my first ever visit and first pure Persian experience . And I was amazed. I thought this was just an ordinary Arabic restaurant, so I avoided and frequently dine at Al-rawsha for good Arabic food. Anyhow, after stepping into Naeb, I found the thought I had shattered in awe. It was so pleasant and cosy. Very Mogul like setup (were the same influence anyways ). The ambient is quite serene and great place to have a chit chat. Then came the menu, gosh it has so much resemblance with Punjabi language. Culture integration - Persia (Iran) was a mega power for a very long time. So the order begins. My daughter was excited on what drink they have to offer. So we ordered :- 1. Mango juice : tasted like mango Lassi but overwhelmingly sweet. 2. Sekanjenbin : traditional Iranian cucumber juice with honey. It wasn't bad at all. Quite refreshing. Remember to stir first . 3. Lubiya polo: kind of briyani rice but with shredded chicken and certainly unique taste. It was good. It can be eaten without any gravy or whatsoever. 4. Mutton curry : it came with plain saffron basmathi rice and this dish was not bad too. The saffron rice was nicely cooked, the hints of saffron was emanating from the basmathi rice. The mutton was a little tough but boneless and its gravy went well with both of the lubiya polo and saffron rice. This dish was garnished with some cut onions strips - and that really enhanced the taste. 5. Chicken kebab : it came with some breads. It was quite different than any chicken kebab I had. It has a kind of sourness, probably from being marinated with yogurt. I liked it though. My daughter surely loved it - stuffed the chicken into the bread and ate it like a sandwich. Service was also very prompt. The waiter is obviously knowledgeable about the menu. I purchased a Fave voucher, and I had a good discount. So, in overall, the experience was an enjoyable one. I would surely go again. ”
“ Lovely an authentic Persian food. Tried the kashk e badamjun, was blown away, the gomeh sabzi is amazing and the Koobideh insanely good. Chef Houman also gave first class service, I can't wait to come back again. Also, as a bonus, there is a Persian tea stall in the same food court that serves amazing saffron tea. ”
“ The food is good, we ordered 3 types of meat and an eggplant starter. They were served with some basmati rice. Overall the meats could be seasoned slightly more (but that’s our personal taste I reckon) The lamb kobbideh was seasoned well. The eggplant starter was delicious We ordered the “Iranian Tea” which tasted like normal black tea. It was served in an ornate pot. We also ordered the traditional cucumber drink which was nice and refreshing. Prices are ok compared to the row of Arab food shops at Bt. Bintang area. Parking was a bit difficult in the area. Customer service was ok, can be a little more friendly but there’s nothing wrong. They seemed a little “shy”. ”
“ I love how authentic the place is! 1) the decorations are on point 2) the food tastes great and everything was freshly made. 3) the prices are affordable for the Ampang / KL location. Definitely my to go place whenever I am around. ”
“ For those who want to try other country cuisine , this is the place. From the restaurant decor and their service, this humble restaurant serves Iranian authentic cuisine. The taste is perfect , from the rice to lamb shank.Their dill rice is very nice. The Delestar drink compliments the dish. The dish is worth sharing with your friends or family. Plus : They have shisha for the shisha fans. ”
“ First time Iranian cuisine, but it will definitely not be the last. Dishes were outstanding with some of the best Lamb I've ever tasted. Found myself saving it for the last bite of the meal. Unique drinks and incredibly friendly waitstaff, even with our Hangry two year old. Kudos to the owners and staff. ”
“ Naeb used to be a restaurant by itself but now they are located within the nearby Suzi's corner. They serve delicious Iranian food. Few of my favorites on their menu are Chicken Kebab that comes with saffron butter rice, their hearty barley soup, and the eggplant dip. Parking can be a challenge with Suzi corner tho, as usual. ”
